Where I stand on the issue of nude modeling... What I think about SG and equivalent sites… What my personal limits are in this area…
I have a great appreciation for many different art forms. I both admire & envy the talented artist who can turn raw thoughts & emotions into something for the rest of us to enjoy.
One the issue of nude modeling, in general, I absolutely have no problems with it. Now - this is not to say that I like all of it, or that I think it is all appropriate! There is a great deal of trash floating around out there. But, nude modeling/photography IS just as much of a form of art as anything else, when done properly that is. To all of the people that have qualms with nude work, I say that you need to go pick up an art history book and educate yourself.
If I had to categorize myself, I would say that I’m a modified model {because of my tattoos/piercings}. Now, since we are talking about body mods in conjunction with modeling – you know I have to mention SG {Suicide Girls}. I am not, nor will I ever be, a Suicide Girl. I do NOT consider that to be modeling {or art}, because it’s not. SG is soft-core porn, plain & simple. I don’t care what you might think about it, that’s how I see it. And they are also giving tattooed girls a bad rep. {visit Blackheart13 for girls that promote their tattoo work and not their T&A.}
As far as my personal limits in this area of modeling, it’s simple - I do what I want. Now, of course I take my husbands feelings to consideration, but I am lucky to have an understanding & supportive husband who is comfortable with my decisions. I have done some lovely nude modeling in the past that I am very happy to have {there have been some tragic ones too, but they will never see the light of day. lol}. If the nudity is tasteful & I am shooting with a reputable photographer, then I have no reservations about it whatsoever.

I completely agree with you on the SG issue. Its like the worst internet thing ever. Now so many fratty boys expect girls who have weird hair or piercings or tats to be completely loose and always up to make out with a girl. frustrating.
Agreed! Nude modeling has to be done just right... there is a big difference between tasteful and pornish type modeling... and you immediately notice the difference when you look at a nude photo, you will either say, ahhh... or now that is ART!
Suicide Girls... When I first came across them, I was like wow this is neat... but you are right about them being all about Tits and Ass... they are gorgeous though, I have to admit.
I am impressed with your thoughts about the Art of Nude Photography. It is very exciting and inspiring when done with an artistic eye. Flush the rest of it. Go girl, and Right on!
Totally agree'd. I love Nude photography art when its done right and tastefull. I love drawing nude models its just real. and when its not... pornographic it can be beautiful and i think the same about photographs painting anything of the sort really. and... SG is just porn.. its not very artistic... and its totally porn. and not every girl or guy with Tattoo's are like that. anyways Up's to this blog. I like it.
